Restoring and Protecting Land for the Future

Located in southeast Lee County, the vision for Kingston is restoring and protecting land for the future. Half of the property will be restored and protected as environmental preserves. The other half will include residential neighborhoods and lifestyle amenities for residents.

Follow Our Progress

Lee County Commissioners approved development plans for Kingston in June 2022. The project is currently in the environmental permitting process. Once approved, environmental restoration initiatives would commence prior to construction of any homes or community amenities. The development construction phase, which will include homes and recreational amenities, is expected to continue over next 25 years.

Wildlife & Water Impacts

As existing farmland, much of the property is not currently inhabited by native Florida wildlife. In fact, portions are overgrown with exotic vegetation. Restoration initiatives will provide water quality benefits and create wildlife habitat that currently does not exist. A similar restoration project has been completed at The Place at Corkscrew, and one can see the transformation in photos.

Friends with the Florida Panther

The Developer of Kingston incorporates U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service panther-specific elements into the restoration plan, including wildlife crossings and designated wildlife areas within the community.

Environmental researchers continue studying migratory habits of Florida panthers across Southwest Florida. Telemetry, which uses “pings” to track panther movements, indicates some activity around the periphery of the Kingston property. However, the majority of “pings” in Southwest Florida are located outside of a 5-mile radius that surrounds the Kingston property. The development practices used at Kingston will accommodate panthers to inhabit the area.

Meet the Developer Family-Owned

The project developer of Kingston is Cameratta Companies, a family-owned real estate development company based in Estero. Cameratta builds exceptional master-planned residential communities that integrate with the environment.

Beyond its focus on sustainable growth, Cameratta supports dozens of charitable causes across Southwest Florida. The developer also donated the land along Corkscrew Road for Estero Fire Station 45.
